To make the most of the long hours of sunshine, man reduced the slopes by forming terraces in order to produce a highly appreciated wine: Chasselas. Lavaux consists of terraces on steep slopes all the way down to Lake Geneva, covering an area of 830 hectares between Lausanne and Montreux. The site enjoys a Mediterranean climate, warm temperatures and the reflection of the light from the lake.

The famous Montreux Jazz Festival Created in 1967 by Claude Nobs (1936 - 2013), over the years the Montreux Jazz Festival has become the undeniable rallying point for music lovers from Switzerland and abroad.
The classical sound of Septembre Musical Offered since 1946, the September Musical is one of the biggest classical music events in Europe. On the programme are symphonies, famous operas, chamber music and piano recitals at the Stravinski Auditorium, the Vevey Theatre, as well as at the Chillon Castle.
