Charlie Chaplin makes you smile! Screenwriter and film producer Charlie Chaplin – the Tramp in "Modern Times" - settled in Manoir de Ban in Vevey. His statue on the lakeside promenade recalls his 25-year stay in the region.

Reflection of the legendary Chillon Castle Extraordinary fortress and princely residence of the XIII century, built on a small rocky island at the edge of the lake, it was immortalised by the famous poem by Lord Byron “The Prisoner of Chillon”.Magnificent halls, chapel, prison, etc. all have to be seen. The castle houses collections of pewterware, furniture and old arms.

Made in heaven by Freddie Mercury Freddie Mercury, the singer of the rock band Queen, settled in Montreux because of its serenity. He acquired a recording studio, where he made his last album with Queen: “Made in Heaven”.

Vevey the town where Charlie Chaplin lived On the shore of Lake Geneva, Vevey is a town of images, culture and shopping. Home of the Nestlé headquarters and several museums, Vevey’s charm enticed Charlie Chaplin to spend the last 25 years of his life there.

Always meet the snow at Glacier 3000

Glacier 3000 is a resort on a glacier offering a view of the highest peaks in the Alps. This region for skiing in winter and for hiking in summer is connected via cable car from Col du Pillon/Les Diablerets.

The train connects Montreux, Château-d’Oex, Gstaad, Interlaken and Lucerne with an itinerary through Nature. The GoldenPass crosses the vineyard terraces of Lake Geneva, the pastoral and forestry expanses in Upper Gruyère, Saanenland and in Upper Simmental, holding in store the most captivating views of the Swiss countryside.

Take me to the vineyards of Lavaux, as Prince sang A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Lavaux vineyards illustrate a thousand years of labour. To make the most of the long hours of sunshine, man reduced the slopes by forming terraces in order to produce a highly appreciated wine: Chasselas. Lavaux consists of terraces on steep slopes all the way down to Lake Geneva, covering an area of 830 hectares between Lausanne and Montreux. The site enjoys a Mediterranean climate, warm temperatures and the reflection of the light from the lake.

The famous Montreux Jazz Festival Created in 1967 by Claude Nobs (1936 - 2013), over the years the Montreux Jazz Festival has become the undeniable rallying point for music lovers from Switzerland and abroad.

The classical sound of Septembre Musical Offered since 1946, the September Musical is one of the biggest classical music events in Europe. On the programme are symphonies, famous operas, chamber music and piano recitals at the Stravinski Auditorium, the Vevey Theatre, as well as at the Chillon Castle.

High degree of education Switzerland is universally renowned for the quality and level of teaching to be found in its schools. Montreux Riviera can claim to have two of the best hotel schools in the world: the Glion Institute of Higher Education and the Swiss Hotel Management School.
